Wondrous Childhood Christmas Cards
Available as single cards, or as packs of 3 or 6.
This design was first created as a gouache painting in Sr Lucy's sketchbook, with gold ink used for the stars on Our Lady's mantle. The stars and the floral patterns on her gown are inspired by the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The three flowers in her hair represent that she remained a virgin before, during and after giving birth to Jesus. The background of leaves and berries are in traditional Christmas colours, with evergreen foliage representing God's everlasting love and red berries symbolising the Blood of Christ shed for sinful humanity. The Christ-Child is naked as a sign of His humility, and we included a few lines from the Christmas Carol 'Once in Royal David's city' on the inside right of the card to encourage meditation on his obedient lowliness as a small Child in Mary's arms.
All of our A6 greetings cards are printed on high quality 300gsm card and supplied with a 160gsm white envelope. The vivid colours and the luxurious smoothness of the card are a delight to behold.
Interior message reads:
- left hand side: Wishing you peace and joy this Christmas!
- right hand side: And through all His wondrous Childhood
He would honour and obey
Love and watch the lowly Maiden
In whose gentle arms He lay.
