Archangel Gabriel Prayer Cards

Part of our Dominicards range. 
 
This prayer to the archangel St Gabriel for communicators was composed by a friend of our community who kindly permitted us to reproduce it for sale in our shop - thank you Jeremy! 
Sr Lucy wrote out the prayer in traditional calligraphy, using violet and teal inks and watercolours for the border. 

The portrait of Gabriel, painted to match, was completed in watercolours, with silver-coloured leaf for the halo. Sr Lucy combined traditional iconography for the Angel Gabriel with her own style for this portrait. The purples in the painting indicate the season of Advent, when we prepare for Christ's coming, as heralded by St Gabriel. The greens are for hope, and the blues are for our Blessed Mother, who was visited by St Gabriel.
